How to Control how Project Codes are used on Transactions

There are several tools that a user can use to control how project codes are used on transactions. These tools include the following:

  1. Use the Dimensions settings on the G/L accounts to control which accounts always required a project code.
  2. 2. Use the Portal User Security filters to define the projects that project contacts can view and transact with in the Purchase Request Portals or Financial Analysis Portals.
  3. Project budgets for projects can be created using the standard budget upload features, annually entered or uploaded using the Budget adjustment journal.
  4. Project tracking does not create Altus Dimension combinations. If these are used in your solution then they need to be created at the time that a project is created. Dimension combinations can be created manually in the Dimension Combinations page. Another easy way to create dimension combinations is the Create Project Dimension Combination report a ling to which can be found under Project Tracking > Analysis and Reporting
