This KBA shows the correct format for Employee Center (aka Portal, EWA) URL
 

Resolution  

After recreating an environment or perhaps just because the EC address has changed, there are a few places where this information needs to be updated.

First of all, the URL in EWA Setup under Intranet Web Address field should be:
https://financeportal.company.org/
 
Second, under Portal Intranet Shortcut, the new URL should be
 
https://financeportal.company.org/EmployeeWebApps|https://financeportal.company.org
 
Notice that any email with links sent before this change will either need to be re-sent, or the approver will have to search for the pending approval in their Portal.

Using the incorrect format will result in emails with wrong links
