INFORMATION

  • Products: Sparkrock 2016 HRP (Canada)
  • Summary: Potential discrepancy in tax calculations between Sparkrock and CRA tax calculator for 2023 tax year // Solved

DETAILS

There is an issue affecting the calculation of Canadian federal taxes in Sparkrock 2016 for HRP customers. After comparing the calculations in the CRA's tax calculator tool and the Sparkrock system, we have observed that the Sparkrock system may be calculating slightly higher taxes than the CRA's PDOC tool. As a result, employees may be subject to a higher contribution. Please note that this discrepancy is expected to be corrected by the CRA when the employee files their tax return for the 2023 tax year.

Update, we have resolved this issue. Now customers using Sparkrock 2016 can update their configuration for Canadian Federal and Provincial taxes to match what the caculation done by CRA's PDOC tool.
