  • Summary: Sparkrock 2016 app crashes when using the mouse scroll-wheel

Details

There is a known issue in Sparkrock 2016 version 9.09.01, CU03, where the application crashes when scrolling with the middle button of the mouse. This issue can cause inconvenience and disruption to users during their daily operations. It is important to note that this issue does not occur in Sparkrock 365.

Resolution

To mitigate this issue, a workaround is available. You can disable the background scrolling feature in Windows. This will prevent the app from crashing when using the middle button of the mouse for scrolling. However, please note that this is only a temporary workaround.

For a permanent solution, it is recommended to update to the latest release of Sparkrock 2016, specifically CU39. This release includes a fix for the scrolling issue, but please be aware that updating to CU39 may require additional fees and all clients will need to be updated accordingly.

Impact / Risks:

  1. Disabling background scrolling in Windows may affect the overall scrolling experience in other applications.
  2. Updating to CU39 in Sparkrock 2016 may require additional fees and involve updating all clients.

Workaround

To disable background scrolling in Windows, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Windows Control Panel.
  2. Go to the Mouse settings.
  3. Look for the option related to background scrolling and disable it.
  4. Save the changes and restart the Sparkrock 2016 app.
