- Summary: The Cancel Approval button is not available for users on different documents sent by them for approval, impeding them from cancelling the approval requests they sent.
Details
As part of their daily work tasks, users can create different types of documents in Sparkrock 365, like Purchase Requisitions, Payment Requests, and others. Depending on the company workflow, users will need to send these documents to get approved. Whenever a user notices an error and needs to rectify it before the approval, they can cancel the approval request of the documents they sent for approval.
In this case, the Cancel Approval button was not available for the users, so they were not able to cancel the approval request to make changes in the document.
Resolution
The Cancel Approval button was not available for the users because the Approval User Setup was not configured for them, to fix this, follow the steps below:
- Navigate to Approval User Setup.
- Enter a new record in the table for each user that is having this problem.
- Ensure to enter at least the user's email address as well. The other fields are not required but give them a look in case they need to be filled.
- Confirm there is an entry in the table for the MYSPARKROCK user, this user is also needed for the cancellation to work correctly.
Impact / Risks
- Do not enable the Approval Administrator option unless the user will actually be an approval administrator, this option will give them permission to see and approve all types of approval requests.
