  • Summary: User ID is not setup to be able to see payroll employees

Details

When a new user is introduced to the system and works in an HRP position, they may encounter an error message saying "User ID is not setup to be able to see payroll employees" for example while trying to open the payroll employees page. This occurs because of a security measure to restrict the access to certain data.

Resolution

1. From the Home page or Role Center in 365, search for Payroll Setup

2.  Once on this page, find the section Payroll User Setup and expand it

3. Add the user encountering the issue to the list by creating a new line and selecting the user in the drop-down menu of the User ID column.

4. Adjust the permissions for the user as necessary depending on its role

5. The user should now be able to access the Payroll Employees page, however they may also encounter the error "This user cannot access Compensation Data". For this error message, navigate to User Setup, find the user and enable the “Allow user to access compensation data” checkbox. If they are not listed in the table, add them manually.

Impact / Risks

Please provide only the permissions and access necessary for each user, assigning extra permissions could cause security issues.
