Information
Product: Sparkrock 365
Summary: Explanation of changing IP addresses in Sparkrock 365 and guidance on ensuring uninterrupted email delivery.
Details
Customers have inquired about the frequent changes in IP addresses for Sparkrock 365 instances, leading to issues with SMTP server configurations. Microsoft employs a range of IPs, and whitelisting a single IP can cause email delivery problems when Sparkrock 365 (MS Business Central) switches to a new IP.
Resolution
To address this issue, Microsoft provides a comprehensive IP Address Range for Business Central (Sparkrock 365) where you can find the necessary information. Unfortunately, there is no fixed IP address range for accessing Business Central as it relies on other Microsoft services (e.g., AAD, Office, CDN), which can change without prior notification.
In that article two options will be found to secure your email delivery:
-
Whitelist Azure Cloud IP Ranges: Consider implementing a whitelist based on the relevant Azure Public Cloud IP Ranges. You can find the IP range information in the Microsoft Download Center.
-
Utilize Service Tags: Microsoft has introduced service tags, such as "Dynamics365BusinessCentral," to streamline the process. Make sure to verify the region (e.g., CanadaCentral) and look for the tag within it.
Please be aware that Microsoft can update these IP addresses at any time. If you are using on-premises Exchange, automatic filtering by Azure Service Tag might not be supported. It's advisable to manually track and whitelist the IPs accordingly.
Impact / Risks
Microsoft could modify the IP range. Please visit the provided article and check for updates if your SMTP server is not longer able to deliver emails from Sparkrock 365
