Information

  • Products: Sparkrock 365
  • Summary: Sparkrock 365 asks to refresh the page frequently

Details

A recent update of Microsoft Edge has introduced an energy-efficient mode, which conserves system resources by preventing background tabs from running. However, this results in a need to refresh Sparkrock 365 more frequently than before.

Resolution

To whitelist Sparkrock from Edge’s efficiency mode, follow these steps:

  1. Open Microsoft Edge and click on the three-dot menu icon located in the top right corner of the screen.
  2. Select "Settings" from the menu and then click on "System" from the left-hand side panel.
  3. Under the "Battery" section, click on the "Configure battery optimization" link.
  4. Scroll down to the "Never allowed" section and click on the "Add an app" button.
  5. Type in "https://sparkrock365.bc.dynamics.com/" in the box provided and click on "Add".
  6. Once you have added the website, it should appear under the "Never allowed" section and Edge efficiency mode should no longer impact the website's performance.

Note that this process may vary slightly depending on the version of Microsoft Edge you are using, but the general steps should remain the same.

Impact / Risks

Whitelisting Sparkrock from Microsoft Edge's efficiency mode should not pose any significant impact to your device’s performance.
