Summary: Sparkrock 365 - Upcoming Changes for New T4/T4A in Canada Dental Plan
Details
The T4 and T4A for the year 2023 require a few steps before being able to correctly generate them, the main change for this year is the Box 45 for the Canadian National Dental Plan. With the update to v22.5 of Sparkock 365, there are two new fields called National Dental Plan Code, one under Payroll Company Information and another one inside each Payroll Employee. In the resolution section, we will explain how to use them.
Resolution
Before we begin, please note that this is for employees on 12/31/2023 so if they were terminated prior to that date the code would be different than everyone else.
- From the home page, search for Payroll Company Information List
- On this menu, you will have all the available companies, select one and expand the CA EOY Information section.
- Fill in the corresponding code for the National Dental Plan field, this will update the employee records linked to this company. Repeat this process with the rest of the companies.
- Now we need to adjust the employees that have another plan or situation, for that navigate to Payroll Employees and search for each employee that will need a correction. Please note the National Dental Plan Code is a column you can see on this page.
- Once you encounter the employee, open their card and scroll down to the Administration section where you will have the National Dental Plan field to modify as needed.
- Repeat this process for all employees that need it and you will have finished all the required configurations for the new changes in the T4/T4A
